It's just too bad he wanted to cut access to him for today's students by shutting down the NEA--an organization whose mission for the last 8 years has been to bring Shakespeare into the schools. In his book "Hard Choices," he talks about a high school teacher he had whom he greatly admired and who instilled in him a love for Shakespeare. One may or may not agree with McCain's positions regarding arts funding, but to say that he doesn't appreciate the arts is flat-out wrong.
